Job Description:
The role is for a Construction Manager focusing on Infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The responsibilities and tasks include:
- Acting as the representative of Parsons with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers during the project execution.
- Representing the client in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings.
- Overseeing the establishment of various plans and documents related to construction management, health and safety, and quality assurance/control.
- Procurement responsibilities including preparing purchase requisitions and procuring necessary items.
- Coordinating various administrative aspects related to field vehicles and equipment.
- Reviewing and approving subcontractor safety and quality control plans.
- Managing subcontractor expenses and maintaining current documentation.
- Preparing and negotiating changes to the scope of work.
- Supervising cost engineering activities, including progress reports and budgeting.
- Overseeing accounting tasks such as invoice development and review, and approval of subcontractor invoices.
- Establishing quality assurance and quality control plans, including inspection and test plans.
- Ensuring safety and emergency procedures are in place and conducting regular site inspections with the contractor’s safety representative.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience in general infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in overseeing and managing the construction of major capital improvement projects.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to apply advanced construction management techniques and adapt to demanding project conditions.
